WEBSITE ACCESSIBILITY STATEMENT
www.jazzimprov.net
Thanks for visiting our website! We understand that access to any website can be challenging for some people. We have made efforts to make this website accessible within the limits of our company’s size, resources, and understanding of potential customers’ needs.
Accessibility On This Website
We have several features and policies that can help you with accessing our website in a user friendly way. There are also additional aids available to you via third parties that you may find through your preferred web browser (for example, see Chrome accessibility extensions, Safari accessibility settings).
We have made every effort possible to conform to, as closely as possible, the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (“WCAG”) 2.1 Level AA published by the World Wide Web Consortium (“W3C”) Website Accessibility Initiative (“WAI”). The WCAG are technical standards to improve accessibility online.
If you are having any difficulties navigating or using this website at all, please email us at jazzimprovinstitute@gmail.com for assistance. You can also call or text +1 571-318-6278 if you prefer to talk by phone. Leave a message if we don’t answer, and we’ll return the call as soon as we are available. We’re happy to help.
Accessibility Disclaimer
Although best efforts have been made to make this website accessible, please know that we may not do everything perfectly. Our goal is to provide a safe, accessible website for everyone to use and enjoy. If you have any suggestions as to how we can improve accessibility on our website, please email us at jazzimprovinstitute@gmail.com with those suggestions.
We have added alt text, transcripts, and descriptions to all assets. You can tab to all the hyperlinks on the site. All the videos are embedded from YouTube, and the YouTube player allows you to slow down/speed up or add closed captions. Let us know if you have any issues and we’ll be happy to provide an alternative, such as a transcript. Although we don’t provide printed music, except for in person face-to-face lessons, you are welcome to contact us for the XML file and then you can use that to create embossed sheet music. We are happy to provide large print documents, transcripts, and sheet music upon request.
We also try to adhere to Universal Design for Learning, or UDL, as evidenced by providing multiple modes of training, a responsive site, as well as sheet music for non-traditional instruments. In the meantime, if you find something difficult to read, please email us at jazzimprovinstitute@gmail.com and we’ll quickly provide a document of the training.
Third Party Disclaimer
Our website uses third-party software or “plugins” to perform certain functions and to maintain our website (and its safety). These plugins may or may not be accessible for every user. Since we don’t have control over those plugins, we’re unable to modify or correct them. We are not responsible for the use of, or inability to use, those plugins since they are outside of our control.
